Soichi Negishi (Kenichi Matsuyama) is a calm and shy young man from Oita who pursue his dream to become a pop singer and go to Tokyo. But after graduation from his college, he become a singer of death metal band called Detroit Metal City (DMC) instead. On stage, he costume as Johannes Krauser II and his songs always about hell, death and murder and play the guitar with his teeth. In his real life he's still become the nice Negishi who likes nice and cute pop songs.
One day he met his college friend and his love interest, Yuri Aikawa. She likes the calm and Negishi's nice songs but she doesn't like harsh music like DMC. Negishi then realize that his dream can't be true and he goes to the wrong way. Unexpectedly, DMC get famous and challenged by Jack ill Dark, known as legendary Black Metal guitarist from United States.
Negishi who confuse with himself and depressed about his unachieved dream, back to his village and run away from the challenge. Eventually, he recognize that DMC isn't the wrong way and he can actualize not only his dream with but also everyone's dream with DMC and win the challenge.
PS : Kenichi Matsuyama played the main protagonist and show his amazing acting by portray two very different person in one time.
